D.I.S.C.O

Vest: Topshop
Disco Pants: American Apparel
Shoes: Topshop
Necklace: Primark

So a little while ago (er, about 2 months!) I mentioned that I'd ordered the famous American Apparel Disco Pants. I've literally hardly worn them due to the warm temperature recently, so when it was a bit chillier on Friday I finally got to wear/photograph them. I absolutely love them, they're so comfortable and the material is really flattering. I tried them on in store before ordering online (to get the 15% discount) and having repeatedly read that people tend to downsize with Disco Pants, I tried on the small. I found I actually couldn't get them past my knees! So I opted for the medium! I don't know how people fit in the small, or xsmall?!

I had originally purchased the Glamorous dupes (I literally bought them the morning they announced they were selling them!) for the much more affordable price of £30, but the afternoon after I'd ordered them I got a phonecall saying that they were actually dark charcoal rather than black, as advertised on the website (although they've now updated it). When I received them I found they were grey and the material was much thinner. AA Disco Pants are like trousers, the Glamorous version are definitely more like leggings. Had I not already tried the AA version I probably would have been just as happy with the dupes, but I already had my heart set on the higher quality of the AA ones! So I was a little disappointed and decided to send the Glamorous ones back. I guess it depends on what you're looking for, I think the Glamorous ones are still good for the price! I'm considering getting the Glamorous Disco Shorts now!

Do you like/have Disco Pants? There are numerous dupes on the market now, which ones have you bought? x

Recent Buys

It isn't until you lay everything out on a bed and start taking photos of it (not something I have found myself doing before!) that you realise how much money you've actually spent on clothes! All of these items were bought in the last three weeks or so, it feels like I bought the cross dress so long ago but it was only about three weeks.

Fuengirola Zoo Giftshop. Both 3 euros.
You find the best things in the most unexpected places! I bought these two in the gift shop at a zoo I went to in Spain. I really love them and they were so cheap!

Primark. Silver - £4. Gold - £2.
I don't usually like the jewellery in Primark, but I really liked this silver one. And the gold one was reduced to £2 so I picked that up too.

Top - 15 euros. Skirt - 5 euros (?)
Bought both of these from Bershka in Spain. I really love the peplum top which is almost identical to the Topshop one.

Dress - Glamorous £19.99. Jumper - Primark £8.
Saw this dress on Amy and bought myself one immediately!

Blazer - Primark £15. Blouse - Primark £12.
I have been looking for a blazer in this colour for the longest time, let me tell you. I almost gave in and purchased the extorionately priced River Island one for £65, but Primark saved me at the last minute! It is the perfect dusky coral colour and I love it! And I really liked the French Bulldog print blouse, despite avoiding animal print garments so far (ahem H&M!) but I thought this was really cute.

Jacket - Stradivarius 59.95 euros. Cropped vest - Republic £3.
Yes, I bought THAT jacket. I have been relentlessly searching for the perfect one for ages. I quite liked the River Island version with the rolled up sleeves, but when I saw this in a shop window when wandering through the Spanish lanes, I begged my dad if we could go back the next day so I could buy it (this was during the siesta and shops didn't open again until 5pm). I love the stud detailing and the arms are soooo soft on the inside. I bought the top because I'm a sucker for leopard print and it was only £3 in the sale!

Life has been pretty uneventful although I do have two of my cousins from South America living with me at the moment which is fun, but I have a massive amount of reading to finish before returning to uni in a few weeks. Literally locking myself away and not talking to anyone. Sad times! x

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers

When it comes to false eyelashes, I will put my hands up and admit that I am absolutely useless. I've done it time and time again: paid £6.50 for a pair of eyelures or 'Cheryl' lashes, spent half an hour of my precious 'getting ready time' (of which there is rarely enough of anyway) attempting to stick them to my face only to get really frustrated and throw them in the bin. The last time I wore false lashes was on my 21st birthday back in December, and that was only with the assistance from my very patient mother. Plus I think I look like a drag queen when I wear them anyway.

There has been a massive hype amongst bloggers for these eyelash curlers from Japanese brand Shu Uemura. The award winning eyelash curlers claim to provide 'the perfect curl' and reviews from fellow bloggers have even professed that these curlers, paired with a decent mascara, eliminate the need for false eyelashes. That pretty much sold it for me.

I dithered over the price for a while (£20 is a bit of a step up from my £3 curlers from Boots), but when I saw them on BuyaPowa I joined the co-buy straight away. Within 24 hours all 100 pairs had sold out and everyone got them for the 'best price' of £14.50 - very pleased! I'd never used BuyaPowa before, but now I think it's great. So good for getting a bargain and it's really exciting tracking the item and watching the price go down (or maybe that's just me)! These pictures aren't the best and the mascara I used (No7 Fanomenal Lashes) is running out so I think it would look even better with a new mascara, but I can't even say how pleased I am with these curlers. They truly make your eyelashes look amazing even without mascara.

Have you tried the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers yet? What's your 'holy grail' eyelash product? x

Holiday Snaps

Here are a few snaps from my family holiday in Spain. I had such a lovely time and am majorly suffering from the holiday blues right now! At least it isn't raining here. I only arrived home last night so still a bit strange being home, got lots of things to sort out and I will hopefully be back in a routine with this blog again in no time. I hate being disorganised! x

Flatform Feeling

I don't make any secret of the fact that I love flatforms. My first pair were the fiesty leopard print ones from Jeffrey Campbell, and I've been looking to expand my collection ever since. Here is a collection of my favourites on the highstreet at the moment, the River Island ones are top of my list in that gorgeous blue colour, and they're only £20 which is pretty good for River Island! I also really like the hightops from Topshop...decisions, decisions!

What do you think of flatforms? I don't like the crazy-thick soled ones, but I'm a massive fan! x

Possessions Never Meant Anything to Me

Blouse: Amisu
Shorts: H&M
Shoes: Topshop
Necklace: H&M

This blouse is one of the (many) items I bought whilst in France a couple of weeks ago. I love the loud print, the vibrant colours and, although my mum complained "another chiffon blouse...", it's really different from anything else in my wardrobe. Plus, it was only six euros in the sale - gotta love those French sales! I saw so much good stuff at half price of less, I never see anything I like in the sales at home!

I've been really bad at getting back into my blogging routine since I've been back from France, but I've been working so much and any spare time I've had has been unmercifully consumed by my university reading list, which I have neglected most of the summer. I'm off on holiday again next week to Spain! I'm really excited because, although I've been on holiday with my boyfriend for the last three years, I haven't been on a proper family holiday since I was 15! I'm hoping to make major progress on my reading list, but this might be slightly optimistic with my very energetic nieces coming too! x
