V-Day Treat

I guess Valentines Day got put on the back burner a bit with the excitement of London Fashion Week, but I thought I'd post about these lovely, lovely cupcakes that my lovely, lovely boyfriend surprised me with. Usually on Valentines Carl and I don't really buy gifts for each other, although presents are nice (and my best friend got the most gorgeous Michael Kors watch), I just personally think buying gifts is a bit over the top and I'm more than happy with a thoughtful card - proof that I'm nowhere near as high maintenance as my boyfriend would have you believe! However, this year Carl surprised me with six gorgeous cupcakes. The boy knows the most direct route to my heart involves baked goods, but the icing on the cake (ahah-ahah) was that these were personalised cupcakes made especially for me! He was super thoughtful in choosing some of my favourite treats to go on top (such as Toffee Popcorn) and fillings such as jam (because of my love of jam doughnuts) and they were soooo yummy! I'm always a bit cynical in the lead up to V-Day (it's so commercialised/unnecessary yadda yadda yadda) but when the day came I was super excited and Carl treated me like a princess <3 we went to our favourite Indian restaurant which was perrrrrfect.

What did you get up to for Valentines? Do you like it, or do you think it's a bit excessive? x

London Fashion Week, Day 3

| Dripping Chanel Tee : Studded Petals | Jacket : Pronto | Leggings : Black Milk | Trainer Wedges : Timeless via ASOS | Hat : random skate shop in Kingston | Diamonte Rimmed Sunglasses : ASOS

I grunged it up a bit for my last day at Somerset House today with my studded beanie and my Black Milk leggings (which I reviewed here). I'm sad Fashion Week is over for me; it's so fun and there's such a buzz, I wish I could go everyday! But next season will be here again before we know it. I could only stay at Somerset House for a couple of hours today; other regular-life duties (such as the weekly Tesco shop - how glamorous) had to be attended to.

Tonight will be spent writing up posts for the street style blog and then back to reality tomorrow with a full day in the library working on essays! Nothing bursts your bubble quite like the reminder that you're still a student, and you still have over 20,000 words to write in the form of dissertation/essays before the end of the semester! x

London Fashion Week, Day 2

| Blazer : eBay | Top : Missguided | Skirt : Missguided | Socks : Topshop | Shoes : eBay | Bag : eBay | Sunglasses : ASOS |

For me, the lead up to Fashion Week is always blurred frenzy of outfit planning; parcels are ordered, delivered, tried on, and sent back again before you can say Somerset House. However, this monochrome top and skirt combo made the final cut. I already had the white blazer so I made it into a skirt suit which I really like! I thought I'd include my camera bag in these outfit pictures (review here) as it ties in so well with the red soles of these flatforms (no, not that kind of red sole ladies, these are only from eBay...unfortunately).

Today was a lot of fun and very successful - I got a load more street style photos! AND I was Street Style Snapped by Cosmopolitan which is really exciting! I'm on the homepage (!!), but you can read what they said about my outfit here here. Come back tomorrow for my final Fashion Week outfit! x

London Fashion Week, Day 1

| Blazer : eBay | Top : Paul Smith - Vintage | Trousers : Topshop | Shoes : ASOS | Sunnies : ASOS | Necklace : Mum's(!) |

It's that time of season once again; London Fashion Week is upon us and, as always, Somerset House was overflowing with the fashion conscious, the super glamorous, and the down right ambitious. I was working for Hairdressers Journal again as their Street Style Reporter. I always think it's much more difficult doing street style for hair than it is for clothes; when it comes down to it, if you wear a wacky outfit you can always take it off at the end of the day, but a daring 'do is attached (in most cases) so people tend to be a bit more reserved. I've got tonnes of photos for my Street Style blog (I'll link when they're up) and for the magazine. I'm gonna be there all weekend - it's gonna be a tiring one!

I'm afraid I've broken one of the ten Fashion Week commandments with this outfit: thou shalt not recycle clothes. I wore these trousers last season, but flowery stuff is still pretty on trend so I thought they could do another round. Today I saw loads of the Made In Chelsea cast filming (presumably for the next season) which was really exciting as it's one of my favourite programmes (self confessed reality show addict). Keep your eyes peeled for the scene where Mark Francis and Victoria are chatting at Somerset House - I made sure I walked past in the background at least twice!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's outfit! x

Mwah!

| Shirt - eBay | Disco Pants - AA | Shoes - Topshop | Necklace - H&M |

Yes, another outfit with Disco Pants, but what can I say? Whereas normal students live in trackies and Uggs, I'm more of a skin tight spandex kinda girl. BUT I am frigging loving this shirt! I originally saw it on ASOS, but ended up buying it from this eBay seller when Victoria featured it on her blog - I swear half my wardrobe is thanks to her weekly eBay features. I was actually surprised at how nice it is considering it was only a fiver with free postage - can't really go wrong for that price. It's a kind of weird shiny material but I really like it. I think it's very fitting considering Valentines Day is coming up!

I had a really lovely weekend celebrating my niece's 6th birthday. (Without wanting to sounds like a right oldie) it literally feels like yesterday she was born, but her sudden accumulation of anything and everthing One Direction related proves she is growing up fast! Today I'm hoping to get the first chapter of my dissertation finished, but that includes reading through a pile of magazine articles published in 1798...so we'll see how that pans out! Looking out my window at the snow falling I think I'll be working from home rather than traipse to the library in the cold! x

ps. Anyone else have Holly Valance 'Kiss Kiss' stuck in their head now??

Funky Song, Funky Song

| Leather Jacket : Colombia | Dress : River Island | Shoes : Timeless via ASOS | Belt : Primark |

I've had the same biker jacket since I was sixteen years old and I, quite literally, loved it to death; the fake leather had begun to flake off in parts, the zip was broken, the buckle was broken and it just looked a bit...shit. So when I went to Colombia, I was on a mission to get a new, real leather jacket. I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it and after a little too-ing and fro-ing (another shopper couldn't decide whether she wanted it or not, but carried it around the shop for AGES because she knew I was desperate - this resulted in my auntie harassing her until we decided to go for lunch and come back later), I eventually got my paws on it and I love it...but I'll try not to love to death.

I've always been a bit undecided about the whole trainer wedge thing, but with London Fashion Week coming up and not knowing what to wear I eventually decided to climb upon that bandwagon and bought these from ASOS. It was a pretty good barg in the end because they were already reduced from £55 to £40 plus I got 30% student discount so only paid £28! Savvy student at its best! I also bought this pair because I was unsure, but the snakeskin really won me over when they arrived and these are chunkier than the others SO...that's the story behind those! I love how the wedge is literally only like an inch and a half which makes them perfect casual wear for me because I always get really conscious about being too tall when wearing heels during the day (but for some reason I always go by 'the taller the better' on nights out?!).

What do you think about trainer wedges? Love/hate? x

Instaweek

| Eye Patch! | Nandos | Aztec Collar Tips | Night Out! | Hi :) | Coffee with Papa Bear | Love going home to parcels! | Throwback Thursday - 1997 |

This has been both a good and a bad week for me; I went to the opticians at the beginning of the week and was told I have an eye infection caused by my contact lenses and had to wear an EYE PATCH for a whole day! In the picture I was also locked out my flat AND it was raining. I was not pleased (treated myself to Dominos that evening ;)). I've also been massively stressing with uni work and the impending dissertation; third year certainly is as stressful/busy/difficult as everyone says (and more so). But the week started to look up with the grand opening of a brand new Nandos in the town where I go to university - RIGHT AT THE END OF MY ROAD! Goodbye money. I got my results back for last semester which I was super pleased with and this kind of spurred me on and I finally made a bit of a breakthrough with my dissertation. Then I went out last night for my friend's birthday which was super fun! I love my friends! I channeled my inner cat woman in AA Disco Pants and a crop top from Missguided. I've spent today feeling a bit iffy and cuddling up on the sofa with my boyfriend - what else are Sundays for!

This week is going to be pretty boring with as much time as possible spent in the library! Have you got any exciting plans this week? x
